2023 Climb For Hope

“Team LVSA” at the Red Rock 2023 Climb for Hope.

Las Vegas, NV. March 26, 2023 – “Team LVSA” went climbing again at the 11th annual “Cancer Climb for Hope.” Members of the team were led by LVSA Board Member Marcus Keene from Wynn and Encore Las Vegas. The hikers gathered at Red Rock Resort before the climb at Calico Basin in Red Rock Canyon.

The Climb again featured a team of spa members, vendors members, friends, and family. The LVSA collected over $4000 in donations to the City of Hope National Medical Center. Former City of Hope patient and LVSA President, Michael Garvey stated, “I’m just happy with the great turnout and support. Another awesome day.”

The post-hike party was highlighted with a raffle drawing with free products provided by select LVSA vendors, a big blue bear, and balloons for the kids. Donations may still be made: https://ourhope.cityofhope.org/fundraiser/3632147

 

Goat Wine Yoga 2022 Supports NextStep Fitness

Las Vegas, NV. November 1, 2022 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) the 8th annual charity event for Next Step Fitness. The Goat Wine Yoga “Team LVSA” class was led local Yoga phenom Francis DeAsis.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. NextStep collaborates locally with the Las Vegas non-profit Driven NeuroRecovey Center.

LVSA Board Chair, Jennifer Lynn stated, “We are extremely proud to support NextStep again this year and excited to have members, friends and family participate in Goat Wine Yoga.”

Event Co-Chairs Michelle Wilkos and Adriana Alvarez organize the goats, participants, and prizes. The class was followed by a reception and raffle.

The 45-minute energy charged yoga class event took place outside at the South Point Casino.

March 20, 2022 – “Team LVSA” reassembled after three years for the 10th annual “Cancer Climb for Hope.” Members of the team were led by LVSA Board Chair Jennifer Lynn from Awana Spa at Resorts World.  The hikers gathered at Red Rock Resort before the climb at Calico Basin in Red Rock Canyon.

The Climb also featured team members from Professional Massage. Their contribution helped Team LVSA surpass $4000 in donations to the City of Hope National Medical Center.  Former City of Hope patient and LVSA President, Michael Garvey stated, “I’m just happy to be able to get everyone together again, it was an awesome day.”

2019 LVSA Awards

Las Vegas, NV, December 19, 2019 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held the 2019 Awards Night at the Sahara Las Vegas. Ms. Erika Valles from Wynn & Encore was the named Spa Director of the Year for her leadership at the two five-star spas.

Laura Loza from the Bellagio was presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award for her work as co-chair of both the 2019 Cancer Climb for City of Hope and the “Goat Wine Yoga” exercise class benefiting NextStep Fitness. The award was marked by a special donation to the World Wild Fund.

Tanya Killeen from Kopari Beauty won the vendor Award for Outstanding Member. Tanya was recognized for her personal support of the Association and professionalism with spa members.

Saundra Waggoner from the Waldorf Astoria was named the winner of the Spa Manager Dedication Award for her work ethic, dedication and support of her outstanding spa staff.

A special Community Support Award was presented to the Team from Professional Massage for their continued support of the numerous LVSA charities. A check for $2000 was presented by the Team to Board Member Deidre Strunk to kick off the 2020 Cancer Climb.
