Goat Wine Yoga 2019 Supports NextStep Fitness

 

Las Vegas, NV. November 1, 2019 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 7th annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.” The Goat Wine Yoga “Team LVSA” class was led by world-renowned instructor Kikka Karli and “man in the goat” Steve Maresca.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. LVSA Board Chair, Jennifer Lynn stated, “We are proud to support NextStep and excited about their partners here at the new DRIVEN NeroRecovery Center in Las Vegas.”

Event Co-Chair Laura Loza helped organize the event with participants from LVSA member vendors and spas. The class was followed by a reception and raffle prizes donated by numerous LVSA vendors.

The 45-minute energy charged yoga class event took place outside at the South Point Casino and featured, goats, wine, and a Porsche convertible sports car.

Climb for Hope

“Team LVSA” at the Red Rock 2019 Canyon Cancer Climb.

Las Vegas, NV. March 24, 2019 – “Team LVSA” was gathered again at the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) 9th annual “Cancer Climb.” Members of the team were led by Event Co-Chair Laura Loza from the Bellagio Spa.  The hikers were loaded onto transport vans by hike veterans from “Team Strunk” for the drive to Red Rock Canyon.

The 2019 Climb was sponsored by LVSA vendor members; Dee Berkley, Water Box, and The Dumbell Man.  Proceeds benefited the City of Hope National Medical Center.  Former City of Hope patient and LVSA President, Michael Garvey stated, “We just get bigger and better every year. I love this event, a great time for a great cause.”

The post hike party was highlighted by a dance contest and a raffle drawing with free products provided by select LVSA vendors. LVSA Board Chair, Jen Lynn had “moves like Jagger” as she handed out numerous prizes and gifts for attendees. “We truly appreciate our vendor partners helping us help the community of Las Vegas.”

2018 LVSA Awards

Las Vegas, NV, December 13, 2018 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held the 2018 Awards Night at the Sayers Club at the SLS Las Vegas. Shannon Stringert was the named Spa Director of the Year for his leadership at The Cosmopolitan Sahra Spa and his continued support of the LVSA.

Kim Fischer from the Bellagio presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award for her work as co-chair of both the 2018 Cancer Climb for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the “Tough Love Goat Wine Yoga” exercise class benefiting NextStep Fitness.

Zita Sims of Moroccanoil won the vendor Award for Outstanding Member. Zita was recognized for her personal support of the Association and spa members and constant professionalism with Moroccanoil.

Caryn Slagle-Scruggs from Excalibur was named the winner of the Spa Manager Dedication Award for her work ethic, dedication and support of her spa staff and the LVSA.

“Tough Love Fitness” 2018 Supports NextStep Again

Las Vegas, NV. October 7, 2018 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 6th annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.”  This year the “Team LVSA” class participated in the debut of the “GOAT WINE YOGA” workout with Super Yogi and Soul Medicine Woman Nikka Karli.

The event raised funds for NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. Janne Kouri, the founder of NextStep, feeding a goat and holding a microphone said, “We are extremely grateful for the support from the LVSA and excited to announce NextStep has plans to open in Las Vegas this year!”

Event Co-Chair Kim Fischer helped organize the event with participants from LVSA member vendors, spas and families. The 45-minute mind body charged class took place outside at the South Point Resort pool area and was sponsored by The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment.

The class was a huge success with baby goats thanks to Community Outreach Director Kate Wind. The Fit Vine wine reception and raffle prizes donated by participating LVSA vendors completed the fantastic day.
