2015 LVSA Awards

Las Vegas, NV, December 3, 2015 – Once again the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA), home of the largest most luxurious spas in the world, held their yearend Spa Director’s Social. The event was held at the Sayers Club at the SLS Las Vegas. The 2015 LVSA yearend event celebrated with the LVSA Awards presentation for the tenth year.

Jody Corpuz, Spa Director at South Point was presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award for her support of the LVSA and hosting her 3rd annual “Tough Love” exercise class to benefit NextStep Fitness.

Frank Kennedy from Ready Care was a popular choice for the vendor Award for Outstanding Member. Frank was honored for his support of the LVSA Social and charity events for the past ten years.

Jennifer Barker from The Sahra Spa at Cosmopolitan Las Vegas was named the winner of the Spa Manager Dedication Award in recognition for her commitment in the workplace and support of her peers. Her team from the Sahra Spa was well represented in her support and the humble, hardworking spa manager received due recognition from the LVSA.

Deirdre Strunk the Spa Director at Canyon Ranch was named Spa Director of the Year for her lengthy list of accomplishments. Her support of fellow spa directors and managers, commitment to charity events in Las Vegas and leadership at our largest spa made her an easy choice. She was supported by her Canyon Ranch Spa team, friends, family and all her fellow LVSA spa directors and vendor partners.

Michelle Wilkos has new LVSA role

Las Vegas, NV. September 21, 2015 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) has promoted Michelle Wilkos to the position of Director of Business Development. She has been a LVSA Board member since 2002.

Her responsibilities will include expanding vendor relationships, creating collaborations with Las Vegas area B2B ventures and increasing LVSA membership with both the domestic and international spa communities.

Michelle’s experience and knowledge of Las Vegas makes her the ideal candidate to educate and guide spa members, vendors and industry peers toward an increased understanding of opportunities for growth with the world’s largest luxury spa market.

LVSA 2015 Spa Survey

Las Vegas, NV. September 15, 2015 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) will hold the 6th Annual LVSA Spa Survey on Friday, October 2rd, 2015 at the Canyon Ranch Spa Las Vegas. Once again LVSA Board Member Liz Lesser and Board Chair Jennifer Lynn will lead the event for the largest and most luxurious spas in the world.

The resort hotel spa setting in Las Vegas is booming once again. Vegas visitors can expect to have a spa experience that utilizes the newest products and services in the industry. A luxury spa visitor to Las Vegas has expectations of having a spa experience that they will remember long after they returned home.

The annual LVSA Spa Survey has become an important part in the improved operations for over 30 Las Vegas area resort spa locations. Spa directors in Las Vegas work in a collaborative effort, sharing best practices with the goal of creating the best spa experience possible at each member location.

“TEAM LVSA” hikes for Charity

Las Vegas, NV. March 15, 2015 – On another sunny Sunday morning in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 5th annual “Cancer Climb.” Members of “Team LVSA” were loaded onto team vans and transported to the majestic Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area. The hikers, young and old enjoyed a one hour hike through the most beautiful location in Las Vegas.

Once again, the event raised proceeds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which improves the quality of life of patients and their families. Event organizers Deirdre and Donnie Strunk led the 30 hikers to the scenic trail.

The post hike party provided refreshments and raffle prizes for the hikers. LVSA Board Chair, Jennifer Lynn added, “For five years we have hosted a great event and this was the best yet. My hope is more spas and vendors will join the fun next year.” The event raised over $3000 and still counting.
