A message from Scott Lenz

I truly appreciate being presented the opportunity by the Las Vegas Spa Association to offer my perspective on health & fitness issues as they relate to our community.  I’ll be writing a regular feature on this web site related to fitness and the spa experience.

I have dedicated my entire professional career to the health & fitness industry since graduating from the University of Tampa in 1984 with a degree in Corporate/Adult Fitness. Returning to my home state of New Jersey after graduation, I was recruited by Johnson & Johnson to serve as  a Strength & Conditioning Specialist.

By 1990 I was being encouraged to push the envelope even further and open my own training facility.  In February of 1990, within Manhattan’s SoHo district, Conditioning Concepts, Inc. (CCI) was born, offering facilities, training, and service second to none. Fast-forward to 2001, after seventeen years running a successful personal training business in New York, my wife Eileen and I decide to make our home in Lake Las Vegas our year-round residence.

My involvement in the LVSA presented the next challenge in my professional life, raising of the bar within the health & fitness industry here in Las Vegas. Success for your spa fitness center does not have to involve creating unrealistic mega-gyms equipped with all the latest gimmicks and gadgets.  It involves not being bigger, but being better…better service, better environment, better attention to detail.  My goal is to aid our collective and distinguish the Las Vegas Spa community as being the world’s gold standard. 

Lofty ideals, but why settle for anything less?
