Las Vegas, NV. March 15, 2015 – On another sunny Sunday morning in Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 5th annual “Cancer Climb.” Members of “Team LVSA” were loaded onto team vans and transported to the majestic Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area. The hikers, young and old enjoyed a one hour hike through the most beautiful location in Las Vegas.

Once again, the event raised proceeds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) which improves the quality of life of patients and their families. Event organizers Deirdre and Donnie Strunk led the 30 hikers to the scenic trail.

The post hike party provided refreshments and raffle prizes for the hikers. LVSA Board Chair, Jennifer Lynn added, “For five years we have hosted a great event and this was the best yet. My hope is more spas and vendors will join the fun next year.” The event raised over $3000 and still counting.

Las Vegas, NV, December 4, 2014 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their year end Spa Director’s Social. It was hosted by the Spa at Mandalay Bay Resort on the Las Vegas strip. The event was highlighted with the presentation of the 2014 LVSA Awards.

Matt Gallagher, Spa Director at New York New York was presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award for his time, effort and charitable contributions during the year. Professional Massage was named Outstanding Member for their continued support and contributions to the LVSA. Joy Matti from The Linq Hotel & Casino won the Spa Manager Dedication Award in recognition for her commitment in the workplace and support of her peers within the LVSA.

Blake Feeney, the former Spa Director at Wynn & Encore and Canyon Ranch was named Spa Director of the Year for his legacy in the spa industry, leadership role in representing Las Vegas spas and years of support. Also a Board member of the International Spa Association (ISPA), Mr. Feeney is now the Principal at Feeney & Co., a Las Vegas area consulting firm.

The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) was started in 2002 as a networking solution for Las Vegas spa directors and vendors. The propose was to inspire and encourage spa directors to share ideas, services and industry trends in a fun, social setting with the goal of providing the best possible spa experience for Las Vegas guests. October 5, 2014 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 2nd annual charity event called “Tough Love Fitness.” Members of “TEAM LVSA” worked out with Super Trainer Steven Maresca.  The event raised awareness and provided funds to benefit NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities.

Event Chair Matt Gallagher, Spa Director from New York, New York led a team of over 25 participants. “Wow, I was exhausted… and extremely proud to have this opportunity.  The class was great.  I was very happy to be able to assist the LVSA and NextStep Fitness. We had great support this year.”

The 50 minute energy charged class event took place outside at the South Point Casino and Spa pool area and TEAM LVSA raised over $3000. The event was sponsored by The Dumbell Man Fitness Equipment.

Once again LVSA Board Member Liz Lesser and Board Chair Jennifer Lynn will host the event for the biggest and best spas in the world.

The resort hotel spa setting in Las Vegas is like no other. Visitors expect to have an experience that is unique to the city.
