Las Vegas, NV. March 16, 2014 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 4th annual charity event called the “Cancer Climb.” Members of “Team LVSA” loaded a bus and headed to the Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area for a one hour hike. There were plenty of rocks on the trail but “hike” might be a strong word to describe this stroll through the most beautiful part of Las Vegas.

The event raised proceeds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The mission of the (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The event was Co-Chaired by Jennifer Lohman (Bally’s) and Matt Gallagher (New York New York) who led a group of 35 participants from LVSA spa and vendor member, friends and family.

LVSA Board Chair, Jennifer Lynn stated, “This was another great LVSA event that helps our organization remember what is truly important and how we all can make a difference. It was important, easy and a lot of fun!” The event raised over $3000 and still counting.

Las Vegas, NV, December 5, 2013 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their year end Spa Director’s Social at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on the Las Vegas strip. The event was highlighted with the presentation of the 2013 LVSA Awards.

Shawn Granito, Associate Spa Director at Canyon Ranch won the Spa Manager Dedication Award; Lu Costigan from Coola was voted Outstanding Member and Jennifer Lohman the Spa Director at Bally’s was presented with the Bill Ochoa Humanitarian Award.

The Spa Director of the Year Award was presented to Stephanie Doud from The Mirage. The award is presented each year to the spa director who exemplifies what it means to be a professional. Ms. Doud has been an LVSA Board member for over six years and consistently supported the Association. She has been recognized for being a model for spa service excellence in Las Vegas.

LVSA Fitness Class for Charity

Las Vegas, NV. October 6, 2013 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 1st annual charity event called the “NextStep X-Vegas.” Members of “Team LVSA” participated in a group exercise class lead by Super Trainer Steven Maresca. In 2012 Steven suffered a life altering surfing accident that broke his neck.

The event raised awareness and provided proceeds to benefit NextStep Fitness which assists persons living with paralysis and other physical disabilities. The nationally recognized non-profit organization provides the opportunity for health and recovery through affordable and progressive community fitness, health, and wellness facilities.

Event Chair Jennifer Lohman stated, “We are proud to help this tremendous organization and we look forward to growing the event every year. We loved the class and had a great time exercising with Steve!” The 50 minute energy charged class event took place outside at the South Point Casino and Spa pool area and TEAM LVSA raised $3000.

The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) was started as a networking solution for Las Vegas spa directors and vendors. The propose was to inspire and encourage spa directors to share ideas, services and industry trends in a fun, social setting with the goal of providing the best possible spa experience for Las Vegas guests.

LVSA Fitness Hike For Charity

Las Vegas, NV. March 24, 2013 – The Las Vegas Spa Association (LVSA) held their 3rd annual charity event called the “Cancer Climb.” Members of “Team LVSA” climbed rocks and dirt on all fours at Red Rock Canyon in a new scramble format. The fitness hike provided a fun and challenging morning that peaked at near 5000 feet above Las Vegas.

The event raised awareness and provided proceeds to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Once again Spa Director Deirdre Struck drove the show and the van to get the hikers moving, “Another great effort from TEAM LVSA, a great time and a great cause, it was perfect.” Team LVSA has helped the Las Vegas Spa Association donate to a variety of local charities since 2002.
